How Does Cool Peel Work?

CO2 lasers are the gold standard for treating wrinkles, age spots, acne scars, and other blemishes as well as tighten skin and balance tone. Damaged skin tissue is removed, or ablated, stimulating new collagen production as heat energy is delivered to tighten the skin. Depending on the depth of treatment, CO2 treatments can be accompanied by considerable downtime while damaged skin heals.

CoolPeel, Tetra PRO treatments are not just for the face; other areas of your body, like the hands, décolleté, and back, can benefit from skin resurfacing.

With a CoolPeel, while often unnecessary, your provider may offer numbing cream or cold air for comfort. A full-face CoolPeel can take between 5 – 15 minutes. A more intense, ablative CO2 treatment can take longer and require additional analgesics.

After your CoolPeel, your skin may be red and warm for a day or two. You can resume normal daily activities during this time. As your skin heals, it may feel dry and scaly, so it’s important to keep it hydrated.

For Tetra PRO , consult your provider about your specific settings and what you can expect. Your provider may use a combination of CoolPeel and deeper settings along the same area.

You are a good candidate for a CoolPeel laser treatment if you are looking to reduce the appearance of fine lines, sun damage, minimize pores, and improve skin texture. If you have more laxity, extensive sun damage, pigmentation, or deeper scars and wrinkles, Tetra PRO has the capabilities to customize your treatment, including for darker skin types.

Most clients require a package of treatments for the best results, so your specialist will make sure you understand when to return for your next session. We recommend two or three sessions for optimal results, but you’ll likely see noticeable results after your first treatment.
